Jacob’s Hidden Gems Coeur d’Alane Golf Course, Idaho
Coeur d’Alane Golf Course, Idaho
Set in Idaho, Coeur d’Alene golf course have one of the wildest holes in golf: a floating green!!
In order to reach the green, players are shipped over in a boat. Also, your tee time includes a forecaddie, heated golf cart seats, and a sports massage therapy.
One last point to mention is that when warming up, players hit balls into the lake!
“It began with a sudden flash of inspiration – a man walking his dog, gazing out at a tugboat towing a raft of logs on Lake Coeur d’Alene. In 1991, the first ball was struck onto the floating green on the 14th, and Duane Hagadone’s vision was on its way to becoming one of the best-loved icons in golf.”
..and, so you know, according to Wickipedia “French fur traders allegedly named the local Indian tribe the Coeur d’Alene out of respect for their tough trading practices. Translated from French Cœur d’Alène or Alêne literally means “heart of the awl” which might mean “sharp-hearted” or “shrewd.”
